Welcome to the The Weekly Ride by Cycling Fusion

No more hunting for new music or counting out cues to develop your ride profile.  Here is your ready to ride profile for a fully choreographed ride, that can be displayed from your phone, or printed out onto cue cards for your class.  This ride is timed out, down to the second, to make your life as easy as possible!

This week's ride is from Joey! - “This ride is designed to help the students determine there ideal cadence for power generation. This is accomplished through three primary working sessions through the class.

In the first session, the students will use a cadence above 95 to develop their maximum power. In the second session, the students will use a cadence below 75 to develop their maximum power. Note that the range from 75-95 was specifically excluded to accentuate the ends of the cadence range. After completion of the second working section (during the recovery) I explain the two primary types of cyclists (spinners and mashers) and emphasize that there is no right answer to the power equation other than personal preference which is largely dictated by muscle fiber composition.

I also have the students stand for one if the tests. This usually surprises them that they produce less power over the long term standing.

In the last working section the students are told to select the cadence that feels best to them to generate the maximum power for that working section.” Joey
