Chris Hawthorne AKA Chrispins and I had a Skype date yesterday morning, to record our latest Audio Class PROfile - Four Corners. I'll be publishing it later today for all of our ICI/PRO members to enjoy.
Chris is another of the smart, talented people I enjoy promoting here. She has a real wealth of knowledge about music discovery, playlist creation and all things Spotify. With over 1,000 followers, her Spotify profile is one of the first places I go to steal find new music for my classes 🙂 Visit chrispins1.wordpress.com and you'll understand why Chris's blog has become a real go-to place for new music and playlists suggestions for Instructors.
Before we started with Chris's profile, I hit record and we discussed her weekly music discovery tool, some common questions she gets about Spotify from new users and her trick for getting missing iTunes tracks to show up in Spotify - she calls it magic.Â
During the interview I mention a low cost (under $25) bluetooth receiver you can use to connect your iPhone/Android wirelessly to the club's sound system. Here the post for more information.Â

Hey John, I don’t mean to be picky or petty, but something should be clarified since this topic can easily get confusing. It was said that you have to have a phone, and that Spotify doesn’t work with an iPod. This is not true for the iPod touch, which is now the most common iPod purchased since it provides the highest storage and can run all the apps.
Many non-mac users may just use the word “ipod” as a single class of music players, but that is not correct. The types that do NOT have the big display screen may not run Spotify, but I run it on my iPod touch quite well since the iPod touch can also connect to wireless networks without having any cellular/phone capabilities.
It’s important since this is a lot cheaper than buying a whole phone just to get to iDevice apps, as many Android users have purchased this to run Class Builder just for the app since this can connect to a projector and even though the device is small, the type is supersized when you double tap on it, and the output is 10 ft wide for the class when projected. Sometimes big things come in little packages 🙂
Agreed Gene – my brain often defaults to seeing past questions at pedal-on; “How do I get Spotify on my Nano”.
Yes, the iPod Touch is a great option for anyone not wanting an iPhone.
