I'm sure most of us are familiar with Donna Lewis' hit I Love You Always Forever from 1996. It's just one of those songs you hear and you're like, “I REALLY LIKE this song!” This June, Betty Who covered it, and today, the remix album dropped. I'm really liking the Instant Karma Remix. Check them out and choose your favorite!

Lately I've been all about the remixes. Remixes are so great because it's like taking a song you've heard a million times before and making it brand new. Sometimes I find that I like the remixes even better than the original. Sometimes the bpm becomes faster or slower, which is great if you've been wanting to use a song but have not been able to fit it in because it was just too slow or too fast. So here are a few remixes of newer songs that I've been using lately. I hope you enjoy them!

Today is the official release day of both the new Ghostbusters movie and the Ghostbusters soundtrack. Elle King's Good Girls was released back in June and is the lead single to the soundtrack which also includes songs by Fall Out Boy with Missy Elliot, Walk the Moon and Pentatonix. I'll be using this as a flat road (88 rpm) and I like it every bit as much as Ex's and Oh's and America's Sweetheart.

Switchfoot's newest album, Where The Light Shines Through (released on July 8, 2016) has some great tunes you may want to check out and add to your library. Here are a few I'll be using soon:
Float: At around 60 rpm, this would make a great climb.

Where the Light Shines Through: Seated climb at 75 rpm

Healer of Souls: I'm using this one for a faster climb alternating in and out of the saddle.

Hope Is The Anthem: This one would make a great cool down or stretch.

I hope that all of you here in the U.S. are winding down and ready to enjoy the holiday weekend! If you're teaching a class this weekend, here are a few songs that you may consider using whether you are considering an Independence Day theme ride or you just want to add in a few songs to commemorate the holiday. Of course there's the usual Firework by Katy Perry, Born in The USA by Springsteen or America by Neil Diamond, buy I thought I'd share a few that you may not have thought of.
The Other Side by Jason Derulo features the lyrics, “Sparks fly like the Fourth of July”. (64 RPM)

Fourth of July by Fall Out Boy (81 RPM): I've used this as a seated hill, pushing out of the saddle on the chorus. (There is a remix version that is explicit, so make sure you get the clean version here. Unless of course you and your club don't mind the explicit version…)

Closer to free by BoDeens (100 RPM) will make your ‘Friends' fans smile and makes a great fast flat road.

Freedom by Tyrone Wells: I love this tune a lot although I'm not sure where it fits in. Possibly a warm up or even as part of your ‘welcome music'.
