American Armstrong announced as the stage was finishing that he would start a new team next season sponsored by electronics wholesalers RadioShack.
Lance Armstrong has been a very positive roll model to many of our typical Spinning class participants. His announcement today that he has committed to a new team, with USA based Radio Shack for next year, can only be good for our class attendance!
And next year he won't have to play the good teammate 😉

What Johnny G is to Spinning & Indoor Cycling, Gin Miller is to Reebok Step Aerobics. This year at IDEA they are celebrating the twentieth anniversary of Gin's creation.
Gin's story is very similar to Johnny G's. They both needed to train differently, created a prototype, developed programing and through force of will and enthusiasm they changed the world!
Amy has a very fun interview with Gin over at Group Fitness Talk Radio where Gin tells her story.

Ok, so Schwinn has introduced their new bike that includes magnetic resistance and Power indication (Watts readout) and are rolling it out at this year's IDEA conference. Jay Blahnik is heading up their programing. (Yes, I'm working to get him on the Podcast…)
So where is the Spinning – Star Trac bike with power and watts? Or for that matter LeMond's?
I have a hard time believing that Mad Dogg / Spin Fitness would cede this ground to their competitors. Indoor Cycling 2.0 is going to happen, with or without Spinning's involvement. It will be fun to watch it happen!
Gene over at Global Ride has a whole studio full of new Keiser M3's with power and he is leveraging all that information in a way that is increasing his participants fitness and enjoyment.

Hi, John,
I was out of town and was excited to have the tool for schwinn triple link pedals waiting for me! I tried it today and it works like a charm. I demonstrated its use to one of the gym managers who I frequently called upon for help. Today or tomorrow I will demonstrate it to the new “head” manager and will recommend he purchase a tool for the gym. I'm also going to be in the cycling room prior to the 3pm class today. I know the cyclists will be thrilled!
