Gary Werning (and his wife Patti) are friends of ours. Gary was seriously injured while participating in the year's Leadville 100. Life Time Fitness in Lakeville, MN hosted a benefit 2 hour Indoor Cycling Ride with 300 participants! and Silent Auction this past weekend. This may be something you could do as an event with your class. Race Across the Sky is a documentary about this year's Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race. Its showing in selected cities/theaters on 11/4 and 11/9. Find a location near you.
If you live in the Denver area you may be able to take part in the Race Across The Sky 2010 Live Premier event at Denver’s Paramount Theatre. This special evening will feature a live panel discussion with cyclists Levi Leipheimer, Rebecca Rusch, Dave Wiens, and others. The film will then be shown at the conclusion of the panel discussion. Raffles and special contests with prizes from GoPro Cameras, Smith Optics, Specialized, Honey Stinger, BOA Technology and others will also take place. We're not talking “Go-Daddy” shared hosting here. I cringe every month when I get the invoice for hosting charges.
