I'm planning to interview Judith in the very near future. I'm very interested in hearing about the unique challenges faced by an instructor in a country that puts such severe limits on women. As a very proud father, I can't resist showing you a picture of my older daughter Abby with her Prom date Steve, just before they head off in a stretch Hummer Limousine with 24 of their friends.
And yes, she gets her looks from her mother! This picture alone makes the expense for braces completely worth it.
Prom at our house was quite a production. Amy's friend Crystal did hair and Amy makeup for seven young ladies. I was hiding upstairs. Too much estrogen for me!

I saw this over at http://www.podcastingnews.com and thought, “I must be on to something!”
Edison Research today released their annual joint study, with Arbitron, of Americans’ radio consumption habits – and it shows that podcasting continues its steady, unrelenting growth.
According to the report, the podcast audience has grown by 22% since last year, expanding from 18% of all Americans in 2008 to 22% in 2009.
Edison’s study, “The Infinite Dial 2009” (pdf) details how we listen (and, with online video, how we watch) to online radio offerings, including podcasts.

PRLog (Press Release) — Apr 08, 2009 — Cycling Fusion, a new indoor/outdoor cycling website, 
launched a fundraising campaign in March for cancer research group LiveStrong. The fundraiser is taking a group of common cyclists to Italy in early May where they will ride the first five stages of the Giro d’Italia, just hours ahead of Lance Armstrong and the other professionals.
One of the riders scheduled to participate, Raquel Schmidt, was diagnosed with cancer shortly after agreeing to the event. Despite her intentions to persevere and ride anyway, scheduled surgeries for the disease will prevent her from joining the team. The unfortunate timing of her diagnosis and absence gives the Giretto cycling team a new reason to ride and work to fight cancer.
Boasting a positive attitude, Schmidt says she has already asked Gene Nacey, founder of Cycling Fusion and event sponsor Global Ride, to “save [her] a spot on next year’s team,” and that she has “asked everyone who was planning to donate to me to donate to others on the Giretto team for this year at the website.”
These cyclists are being sponsored mile for mile by supporters, and all the money collected will be donated to cancer research through the LiveStrong Foundation.
Schmidt’s absence also opens up one more slot for a rider to join the team. Information about rider requirements can be found on the website. The deadline to sign up is April 10, 2009.

My friends over at Global Ride have developed a concept they call Cycling Fusion, bringing outdoor and indoor cyclists together. To kick if off they are training indoors to ride the first 5 stages of the Giro d'Italia bike race in Italy.
Very cool and I wish I could attend. THEY ARE LOOKING FOR RIDERS!
