I love it when new SPINNING Indoor Cycling studios open up and I do my best to promote them.
Body Cycle Studio is coming to Philadelphia Next Month in early November.
I talked with ICI/PRO Member (and the owner of Body Cycle Studio) Russell Carter today. He told me his Spinner NXT's are due to appear any day and then he can start offering quality Indoor Cycling classes in his new studio in down town Philly.
I say ” anything to help burn off those wonderful cheese steak sandwiches is a good thing!”
Here is the link to contact Russell if you are close by his Spinning Studio and want to take a class.
I always enjoy talking to Jeff because he takes enormous pride in the quality in his Indoor Cycling maintenance business and the refurbished Spinner NXTs they build are a great example. He was explaining to me that these cycles are completely torn down and rebuilt from the inside out + are sandblasted and powder-coated in your choice of 5 colors. The end result is a bike that looks great and has a better warranty than new.
If you talked to any of my frequent participants and asked; “how would you characterize John's class?” the reply would probably be something like; “add load”, “we're going up!”
So you can understand why I loved teaching to (and my class loved riding to)Â this new Indoor Cycling DVD from Epic Planet – Epic Austin. Thanks for sending me a promotional copy Allen. It is the first video that I have seen that matches my style of class with a series of climb intervals that come one after the other and depict the actual grade of the road.

This article from Seth Godin speaks to what Jennifer and I discuss about the differences between being and Amateur, Hobbyist or a Professional Indoor Cycling Instructor in Podcast number 68
There are three stages of preparation. (For a speech, a product, an interview, a sporting event…)
The first I'll call the beginner stage. This is where you make huge progress as a result of incremental effort.
The second is the novice stage. This is the stage in which incremental effort leads to not so much visible increase in quality.
And the third is the expert stage. Here's where races are won, conversations are started and sales are made. A huge amount of effort, off limits to most people, earns you just a tiny bit of quality. But it's enough to get through the Dip and be seen as the obvious winner.
