I hope that all of you here in the U.S. are winding down and ready to enjoy the holiday weekend!  If you're teaching a class this weekend, here are a few songs that you may consider using whether you are considering an Independence Day theme ride or you just want to add in a few songs to commemorate the holiday.  Of course there's the usual Firework by Katy Perry, Born in The USA by Springsteen or America by Neil Diamond, buy I thought I'd share a few that you may not have thought of.

The Other Side by Jason Derulo features the lyrics, "Sparks fly like the Fourth of July".  (64 RPM)

Fourth of July by Fall Out Boy (81 RPM): I've used this as a seated hill, pushing out of the saddle on the chorus. (There is a remix version that is explicit, so make sure you get the clean version here.  Unless of course you and your club don't mind the explicit version...)

Closer to free by BoDeens (100 RPM) will make your 'Friends' fans smile and makes a great fast flat road.

Now That We Are Free by Glaidiator feat. Izzy works for sprints.  Check out several different remixes of this one on both Spotify and iTunes.

Freedom by Tyrone Wells: I love this tune a lot although I'm not sure where it fits in.  Possibly a warm up or even as part of your 'welcome music'.

Have a fantastic weekend! What are your favorite Fourth of July themed songs to use in your classes?
