As an aging cyclist, I see this as a huge improvement on the old foam roller. Lots more information available at the Trigger Point web site.

I’ve used both the TP roller and the TP massage ball. The roller is great for rolling out the IT bands and quads. But I don’t think it is that much better than a foam roller and it is a lot more expensive. Whichever is used, it is important to roll the IT band, the outside of the quad by lying at about a 45 degree angle, and the front of the quad.
The TP massage ball, on the other hand, is fantastic. You can use it in smaller spaces, apply pressure by lying on it or leaning against a wall, and really work out some problems that all us cyclists tend to have. Try using it just above the trochanter, for instance, to release that nasty little piriformis muscle that is so hard to get to.
Sorry if your comment disappeared. Lots of technical issues happening in the background… I’m referring to them as “after shocks” from the trouble we experienced last week.
Yeah, Stephen Grady, Pascal and Tim Graham had some good comments – hopefully you guys can repost them.
