John…..as far as you can tell, do these bikes “travel” well?
I’ve read a few reports re: the Keisers and how they need to be shipped in just the right position and that moving the Schwinns around really affects the calibration of the power console etc. etc.
I did a 3 hour charity Spin-a-Thon a couple of weekends ago and was a bit disappointed to see that all the Keiser bikes had been taken “German” fashion (anyone who’s ever been to a Mediterranean beach resort and seen the antics that German tourists use to secure the beach chairs will KWIM…….up at 3 am to put their towels and paraphernalia out so no-one else gets a look-in!)…..and then spied some Freemotion bikes. NO power meter, mind.
I fancy this worked out just fine for me as I would’ve really suffered with the Keiser set-up over the course of 3 hours and I’m now putting a Freemotion on my wish-list for my Big b-day (21 again!!)
I want something that’s easy to assemble (seems to be the case) and I don’t want to have to mess around with stuff that doesn’t work right…….surmising that, if I have any sort of problem with, say, the console a single user isn’t going to have the same clout as a gym that’s ordered a whole slew of bikes that have issues.

Funny Vivienne – I do the same thing (under direction from Amy) when we’re in Jamaica 🙂
I don’t know your mechanical aptitude, but the FreeMotion S11.0 was very easy to assemble with a few simple hand tools and the multi tool I carry in the saddle pouch on my tandem – metric allen wrenches
I frustrates me to watch the birth of “Wives-Tales” over at Pedal-On, the club where I teach and other online places.
There is no issue moving a FreeMotion or Keiser.
Schwinn AC Performance’s position sensor is sensitive to changes if the floor is un-level or if changes are made to the leveling feet. If the bike is moved you just need to run through the simple calibration – not a problem with just one bike 🙂
I feel the Internet has made it very easy to communicate poor service through sites like this one and Pedal-On, bringing you on parity with a large club when you need help.
