This explains everything* 🙂
A new study from Tel Aviv University has found that 'endurance exercises,' like a Central Park jog or a spinning class, can make us look younger.
The key, exercise, unlocks the stem cells of our muscles.
Prof. Dafna Benayahu and her team at Tel Aviv University's Sackler School of Medicine say their findings explain for the first time why older people who have exercised throughout their lives age more gracefully.
They have discovered how endurance exercise increases the number of muscle stem cells and enhances their ability to rejuvenate old muscles.
The researchers hope their finding can lead to a new drug to help the elderly and immobilized heal their muscles faster.
*It is my contention, no mater what the stated reason given, the number one reason people come to your class is so they will feel that they look better. It may be beneficial to remember this when you communicate the benefits to your class.

This study show what we all know, regular activity not competition, help to better manage aging effect physiologicaly and psychologicaly so to “look” younger.
Bad thing it is again to make pills … another “procesive”-“ergonomic” food-drug.
The best way to stay young is to live in harmony and respect with mother nature and our body.
The researchers hope this will lead to a new drug???? Why a drug when exercise works?
So silly………..
no kidding. my sentiments and thoughts exactly. leave the drugs out of it. don’t you just love it when you see the transformation happen among the riders in class. not only do they feel good but you do too.
The best drug is the exercise ,we don’t have to look elsewere
something we have inside us, something we got by our creator for free, the only thing is discover our power inside,I complety agree with this study since I’m more active and became an instructor I look and feel younger than many of the same age or older than me , I’m healing my back problems , my body and my soul, and endurance work is the perfect balance.I always say that spinning is helping me to erase my years.
Personally I think we all look like the couple in the picture! 🙂
No, really. This isn’t rocket science is it? When are people going to stop fighting the fact that movement makes us feel better and, as a natural result, look better? Good health doesn’t come in pill form, it comes in the form of doing what we were naturally made to do….move. Not sit all day long at a desk or in front of a screen. Or, in front of a plate of food.
Let’s keep doing what we do, and getting people to learn to enjoy moving and feeling good naturally.
Exercise is the Fountain Of Youth! BRING IT ON, baby! Well said, Amy!!!! 😀
Whoo hoo!! I know an 80year old man who is proof! He said that all his cohorts (eh hum, friends, peers) suffer debilitating ailments secondary to being sedentary and none are as lively as he is. He is an avid indoor cyclist (LOVES our classes) and enjoys yoga regularly. This man does NOT appear 80! Come on, wake up and do what we were born to do: It’s not drugs – it’s E-X-E-R-C-I-S-E!!!
