Amy (the Senior Group Fitness Instructor) was on her way home Friday when the person behind her missed her cueing (brake lights) and hit her at speed. She was pretty beat up and after a few hours getting checked out at the ER she looks to be OK. My big takeaway from all of this is how precious our friends and family are and how much I love my wife.

Amy – wishing you a speedy and full recovery! Such a scary experience for you and John.
Amy I’m so glad you are ok! That looks bad!!! Hope you feel better soon!!
Hi Amy and John,
Sorry to hear about the accident but I’m very happy to hear that you are okay and recovering. Yes, family and friends are precious!
WOW, Get Well, We love you guys
Amy listen well to your body, go over in our mind asin your in our body. Not easy via web but if you have question or advice on medical issue ask, I would love to give you advice.
Amy, paraphrasing Pascal, listen carefully to your body and don’t underestimate the effects of such a hit on your neck and spine. ER has not found visible injuries, which is good, but your body has absorbed the impact in a way that you might not feel today. I am visiting an osteopath since months to cure the results of a similar accident which happened 25 years ago… Take good care.
Wow… Amy is lucky!
I had a similar wake up call last Friday; I deal with donations at a cycling charity, and we’d suddenly got a large number of cheques in memory of a cyclist who’d been killed in a hit and run accident. I was so touched by some of the letters we’d received, and it just about broke my heart to read about this poor man who’d been killed. It could be me, my husband, anyone I work with….
We know all the phrases – live each day as if it was your last, carpe diem, etc etc, and they don’t tend to mean much, but they should. So – grab today with both hands, enjoy it, love it and those who share it with you, repeat tomorrow, and thereafter.
I always thought Amy was tough……now I know it. Be sure to offer multiple back and neck rubs!!
So glad you are okay, Amy! What a scary looking car wreck!
I’m glad to hear Amy is OK. I know what you mean John, these are the times when you really know what is truly important. Cars can be replaced.
Sending good thoughts to all! Hope you feel the support of the ICI community coming your way. 🙂
Glad to see Amy is fine, it’s moments like this thak make you realize how precious life is.
Oh Amy! I’ve been away from the site for a while. And your TL too! I would have a heart attack if anything happened to my beloved TSX. I know you’ve been tired these past days. Rest and enjoy all that comes back to you from your great generous spirit.
Sorry to hear the news…Feel better Amy…if you had seen her coming, you could have fluttered those eye lashes and gotten out of there!
Best to you and John!
Amy Thanks God you are Ok , life is too short we have to live every minute like the last one , I agree with John and Pascal listen to your body , try different opinions you may feel ok today but later who knows , you must had recive a powerfull shock in your neck and back, get well all ICI we are supporting you and your family.
Amy and John-
I am so glad you are ok. We wish you a fast, healthy and complete recovery.
The look on your face, Amy, tells the whole story. Please be gentle on yourself, take lots of time to recover, and remember that if you care for yourself now, in the long run and ride, you’ll heal faster and better.
Wow wow wow everyone THANK YOU for your well wishes and great advice! I have a really good team taking care of me and reminding me that it will most likely take awhile to heal from the impact of the rear hit at 50 mph.
You all are the best and I cannot wait to see you again next September.
As soon as I get a new (used) car, I will post a picture. It might even be a TSX Marsha, but most likely another TL!
Thank you everyone and love to you all.
Amy
