They're coming In just 2 days and this is your one chance this year to change their lives. Why not use one of our excellent Audio Profiles that are part of ICI/PRO to catch a few?
Your class will swell with "resolutionists", those people who every year re-commit to an exercise program but some how disappear by March.
So, are you prepared to catch them?
What special class are you planning?
Would a week of ICI/PRO help?

I have to say…. no. I’m not ready…I’ve not got my own regular class (lets keep our fingers crossed for the new year to bring opportunities!)….however, if I were to have my own class, I would employ some of the techniques one of your guests talked about (about making your classes more appealing!)…
I would advertise some ‘beginners classes’ for those people who have heard that Spinning is really hard core and only for the super fit. I would try and keep the classes small, so I have time to speak to all the participants on a one to one basis and set them up properly on a bike, then ease them gently into the wonderful world of indoor cycling. Your guest mentioned given incentives to regulars, such as bumper stickers or badges, so I would try and source something like that, to make my new cyclists feel special.
I would also give the class a specific goal – so by March, when people start reconsidering their membership, they might think twice.
Absolutely I’m ready and cannot WAIT to help share my joy and influence lives through spinning. To kick off the Fitness Run, I’ve prepared an easy to follow menu featuring 127 grams of protein that is guaranteed to satisfy your appetite, build muscle and burn fat in record time. I’ll be offering this menu (designed by a national womens’ figure competitor) to the ladies in my class who want results. Guys can modify the menu, but women are notorious for eating a carb based diet, which is essentially nothing but sugar. They wonder, “why am I so short with the kids? why am I hungry all the time? why do I feel so lethargic?” By shifting to more protein, women get off the sugar addiction and learn to feel strong, confident and powerful.
I’ve been able to invest a lot of time in developing new profiles based on the music I’ve been introduced to through this site (particularly Spinning Cross the Alps…yes, I took the plunge and bought it). It also helps that the membership director at the gym is ‘en fuego’ and bringing in new members every day. The early boost in numbers in every class combined with great music are all I need to feel ready for the surge. Bring it!
I’ve prepared myself by introducing my class to an goal-oriented setting. I introduced this in Aug. this year – we set an goal every month & then at the end of that month we test this to see if we’ve reached that goal. So at this point I’m preparing them for the last ride of the year – wich will be next week. At the end of that last ride I’ve got an questionaire ready to for them wich at the end will conclude only one thing, wich is; they all have become more fit over the last 4/5 months. Then I’ll ask them “Whom – do you think – deserves/needs to become more fit in 2010? Who do you want to give more health, more well-being, more fitness?? Write down the name, tel.nr. and/or e-mail address of that person. I’ll contact them & give them the change to join us (for free !!) in the month of Jan. as an gift from you.
We did this with other programs and each time succeeded in attracting at least 20 new members!!!
wow, Mauricio, I am so impressed! Can you email me and we can discuss this in more detail? I would love to provide our members a step-by-step guide to doing something like this. I am already planning a Goal-setting series of article soon (based on a workshop I did at WSSC called How Big is Your Why?), so this would be perfect!

Colleen – wow, so glad that you took the plunge and bought Spinning Across the Alpes. There are so many great songs on those CDs. I only wish they had “real names” instead of Track #!
Bard, I think you’re going to have to share the recipe with all of us! 😉
Barb, great idea. May Ii suggest calling it “Intro to Spin” instead of beginner’s Spin. You might get more people even though you’ll do the same thing – keep it easy and teach the movements, safety and HR training tips.
