Julie Erdmann from Tri-ing to be athletic.blogspot.com is back with another entertaining picture-post about her second Indoor Cycling class - Send the Men in the White Coats
I have gone back to spin class. Twice. And let me just tell you, it has *not* gotten easier.
The 2-minute "warm-up" is really nothing more than a way to weed out the wussies (and I totally want to wuss out but the bikes are in a circle so everyone would see me leave.)
Now, if you decide to stay for the rest of the class, you are in for a treat an hour of pure torture.
In case you missed it check out her original post - Trying Not to Vomit at the Spin Class

Hilarious! Julie, how can I get a copy of your articles (and illustrations!) to pass out to my students? PDF? Can you send it to: Barbara@spinroomdesign.com
I’ll return the favor and send you the official ICI/PRO G-string!
These posts have given me a chortle or six. Mainly because my first Spin classes resembled precisely what Julie describes with respect to format/teaching style……and I can attest that, yes, you do feel like U GOTZ IT!1! after 6 classes.
Problem is, though, if you stay there for long enough you’ll have to go through the exact same “torture” when you transition to a class with a decent instructor/coach/leader etc……6 classes/6 weeks/6 months or 6 years with this bat-$hit crazy $hit will leave a person no fitter than the first 6 minutes or so of their very first class.
I too would like something that I could print to use as a hand-out. I’ve taken on two new gigs as of the start of this year and the disappointment/disillusion that I’m not the sort of Spin instructor Julie is blogging about has started to manifest itself.
