Our Recommended Choice For Advanced Certification
Gene Nacey and Tom Scotto kept this a secret during the ICI/PRO conference ... Cycling Fusion and Stage 5 Cycling have merged their Indoor Cycling certifications into one. They will operate under Cycling Fusion for Indoor Cycle Certification and Stage 5 Cycling will continue to provide Outdoor Cyclist training.
Lots to understand about what this means and we try to answer your potential questions in this interview with Gene Nacey and Tom Scotto.

Wow. Several people at the conference said that they wanted to get the Stage 5 cert. I’ve been thinking of Cycling Fusion. This merger makes it the premier certification. Can’t wait. I’ll go back to Boston for it! BTW, next year, I’ve been thinking of the next ICI/Pro conference and my vote is for back to Boston. I don’t think it can be improved.
This is cool and has the very exciting potential to change the indoor cycling world. I hope you guys will create a certification track for those of us who have been teaching for some time and have been dedicated to the principles of good science and training.
I also hope you’ll remember that many of us teach at Spinning licensed clubs that are going to keep those licenses. Speaking for myself, I want a certification and a program I can teach that is clearly apart from Spinning, but can be added to the program my club already has in place.
Best of luck! You’ll see me at a training soon.
This is fantastic. I actually mentioned this to Gene at the conference when he made his announcement about Heart Zones USA and was wondering how things would work out as it would be a disservice to have him and Scott in competition. Now we have the best of both worlds!! Awesome!
I hope you will offer a certification in the Chicago or St. Louis area before Feb. 2011!
The multi-level system of certification is pure genius.
Thanks.
What an exciting endeavor! Please let us West Coast folks know when you hit the Silicon Valley, California!!
And Seattle!!!!
This news is fabulous, and exactly what the indoor cycling world needs.
WOW – that is big news, Tom and Gene. Congratulations on your
new adventure. Add me to the training 😀
Genius! Such a perfect combination! OK, when are you bringing this to CA?
Congratulations!! Now I can have both programs at one time…Delighted….yes, you were quite popular and both had great information and classes!
Hurray!!!!!
Best of luck!
Great fusion , congrats Tom & Gene for this fantastic news , Boston is still the best choice I hope to see you all again in 2011
wow!!!!!! i echo the sentiments of excitement and opportunity for this. this was a recent ICI pro question I put out there about how to advance and be a better instructor and this sounds right up my road. PLEASE………try and include the indianapolis area. columbus, cinti, are good areas too. we are in such dire need of improvement among instructors and there is very little every offered here so the lack in the instruction is very evident. we do have quite a lot of out door riding groups but the indoor program is so lacking. I know we have one of the highest obesity rates here so don’t let that detour your but rather encourage you to seek us out and helps us help others.
So great to get so much positive feedback from everyone. Tom and I are SUPER PSYCHED to create a compelling program that will reach out to many that have not yet experienced all that a good Indoor Cycling program can offer, as well as give the veterans some new experiences. We hope to have a list of cities and dates for the first quarter of next year within a couple weeks.
