Do you have any understanding of using Earthing / Grounding to enhance recovery? How about PEMF or Thermogenics?
Many of the top endurance athletes in the world are using these technologies to speed and enhance recovery - including IRONMAN Triathlete, Endurance Coach and ICI/PRO Team member Ben Greenfield.
I hate to admit it, but these technologies were almost completely unknown to me until this interview with Ben and I'm guessing you may appreciate learning about these alternative recovery tools as well.
During the interview we discuss Ben's live health and fitness conference he has scheduled for March 8th and 9th in Spokane WA.

Like you, John, I hadn’t heard of these some of these technologies before…..but when I clicked on the PEFM link and read that it was used back in the time of Paracelcus to “treat epilepsy, diarrhea and haemorrhage” my Baloney Detector started ringing loud so I decided not to bother wondering…..
Colour me sceptical.
Vivienne if you scroll down the Wiki page you will find 21 references that all appear to be reputable sources.
John….the reality is that you can hunt down any reference on PubMed to support whatever point of view you want to own. One of the links I’ve dumped in the past….. on a different forum …..was to *a study* looking at the use of divining rods as an aid to diagnosis in homeopathic medicine
Yeah, sorry – have to agree with Vivienne on this one. The whole earthing/grounding thing is pretty out there. One site I visited called it a “pseudoscience that falls into the ‘just make sh*t up’ category”. It’s certainly not something I would recommend to someone looking to recover from a 45 to 60 minute spin class… I have no problem with some of the more traditional recovery techniques Ben discussed (pre- and post-workout nutrition, hot/cold therapy, etc.), but much of the rest raises my “snake oil” alarm…
John,
A friend of mine used the grounding device post op and had an amazing recovery.
His orthopod is now recommending it to other patients and using him as a reference.
I was able to take a nap on it, and really enjoyed the sound sleep and awakened refreshed and not hung over, like most short naps can produce.
I am a big believer in energy and its movement….just try it and then , let’s talk!
If indeed that’s the case, Jody, your friend’s orthpedist is violation of HIPAA and patient confidentiality laws and guidelines and opening him/herself up to seriously expensive lawsuits.
If, indeed, that’s the case…..
I still smell fish….or snake oil.
Vivienne
