I was greeted by another Spotify update this morning and see they've added a new way to accidentally screw up your class 🙁
Forgive me if you have already experienced this Spotify update. I might be a few days late reporting the change - I've been using the new Schwinn Class Tamer app and wanted to use a past Spotify playlist today.
That big Shuffle Play button sits there at the top, taunting you to inadvertently touch it (or drip on it) and mix up your song order. It won't go away. Swipe up or down to scroll through the playlist to see what's next and that dang button stays right there at the top. Who thought that would be a good idea?
I do like the white on black fonts - they're a bit easier for me to see/read - but still the same frustratingly tiny track length time font.
During class this morning it took me a few tries to get out of the Now Playing Info screen. Tapping anywhere on the bar across the top doesn't work anymore - you need to carefully tap the little X in the top-left corner.

Still waiting on the update. It seems like I’m always one of the last to receive updates on Spotify… I have heard several complaints of people having large gaps between songs after updating.
And that shuffle button really did not need to get any bigger!!! Hopefully it will just take some getting used to. Thanks for the warning John!
Used this again last night Chris. My experience was that the songs cross faded ok, but the display appears to get hung up = the new track is playing, while the playlist timer is stuck on the old song > then it abruptly changes (the display – not the music) to the next screen.
???? I am new to using spotify, have been making playlists w iTunes for many years. here’s the $65,000 question NO ONE can answer…can you??? When I make a playlist using Spotify on my laptop with some music that is in my iTunes library, when I try to get that same playlist on my iPod and ipad to bring to class, the songs that are from iTunes library will not transfer to the other devices, only on my laptop is the playlist 100% intact and not missing songs. HELP!!!!
There isn’t any solution to this that I’m aware of beyond:
A. Use your computer to deliver your class music.
OR
B. Only use Spotify songs in your playlists.
thanks for your feedback!
