Not ANGRY like; "I want to punch your lights out!" More like; "there comes a time where you want to turn the pedals with anger." I like to use songs that communicate this type of intensity in my class when I'm looking for a very focused, very determined effort.
Here is a good example of what I mean:

Almost anything by Linkin Park, but especially What I’ve Done-I totally get what you mean by turning the pedals with anger, sometimes you need a little anger to get you over the hump.
BTW–Love love love ICI/PRO!!! It has improved my coaching skills immeasurably. Starting to see my students “get it” too!
Audioslave; Show me how to live. That gets me motivated every time.
Love the site and the information.
My class likes “Are You Gonna Go My way” by Lenny Kravitz.
Avatar has some great music.
in RPM qwe call this “track 5” it is generally liek you describe. eg:
Billy Idol – new future weapon
Motley Crue – kick start my heart
Prodigy – voodoo people
Thievery Corporation–Warning Shots
Prodigy – Firestarter or Breathe
The Pretender – Foo Fighters.
After the first 30 seconds it really kicks in ~ one of my favorites!
Oh, the angry song that rocks the house???
Cold Hearted Bitch by Jet…….just hearing the intro brings a smile….I always say, “Time to get in the game….ready to play a little harder???” The lyrics are fairly mumbled so the word ‘bitch’ is barely identifiable.
Prodigy has gotten some ink here…
Here’s another Prodigy, one of my favorites “Climbatize”! I was just describing it to another instructor as a great “angry” song, when you are pissed off and want to get up that hill even faster!
There’s a few that really get my pedals going such as:
Bullet With Butterfly Wings by Smashing Pumkins
In The End & New Divide by Linkin Park
Two other songs that aren’t angry but work very well are:
The Name of the Game by Crystal Method &
Ehad (Attaboy Remix) by Zohar from the Chill Out in Paris (disc 2) collection.
Come on guys, get in touch with your inner anger! Warning: Some of these require a few edits. The key to using angry songs is to sell it (use your emotion), and then follow it with something fun and light. “Did My Time,” “Right Now,” Here to Stay,” KORN. “Prometheus Rising” Immediate Music. “Sleep Now in the Fire,” Rage Against the Machine. “Bawitabah,” Kid Rock. “Bullits,” Creed.
Hammerhead by the Offspring.
Du Hast by Rammstein
Fake It by Seether
Bleed It Out by Linkin Park
Smells Like Teen Spirit-Nirvana
Doesn’t matter how many times I hear this song it is my fave!!!
Figured You Out – Nickelback close second
Rusted from the rain- Billy Talent
The Trews, Black Crowes or the Killers have great songs too
I call them my “angry rock” songs 🙂
-Juno reactor Conquistador part 2, Hotaka, …
-Excalibur 5minutes 2 hard tempo of 90secondes and in the back some fight sounds
-300 soundtrack
-Astrix Israeli just by the first seconds you know what is coming …
“Gives you hell” by: The All-American Rejects
Great for sprints in 3!
I always catch peoples’ attention with ‘One Hit To the Body” by the somewhat geriatric Rolling Stones
Let it Die – Foo Fighters
The Pretender – Foo Fighters
Know Your Enemy – Rage Against the Machine
anything by prodigy
mother mother by tracey bonham. great build up to the rage
many Guns n roses songs
thanks for posting this thread! great to share the ideas.
“Burn it to the ground” by Nickelback
“Thunderstruck” by AC/DC
I love grinding it out with some angry tunes behind me!
Favourites:
The Hand That Feeds – NIN
Really, pretty much anything by NIN…most of ist can’t be used in classes without A LOT of editing!!
Club Foot – Kasabian
Wardogs – Juno Reactor
Drown in the Now – The Crystal Method
“I don’t Care” by Fall Out Boy
Some of my current favorites that are not already listed:
Atlas Plug: Halfway Till Bliss
The Ace, The Only
The Chemical Brothers: It Began in Africa
Voodoo & Serano: This Is Acid (Radio Edit)
Trapt: Headstrong

Screwface & The Autobots: Apocalypse
E.S. Posthumus: Unstoppable
Evanescence: Bring Me to Life
Stiff Upper Lip- ACDC
Let it Die-the Foo Fighters
Enter Sandman- Metallica
Animal I have Become-Three Days Grace
The ultimate angry song in my opinion. I also use it for my “power song” on my Nike+ when I am running: Anarchy in the UK by the Sex Pistols. It has a great beat for running, or sprinting to.
One that always get me crankin is ‘Battle Without Honor Or Humanity’ from the ‘Kill Bill’ soundtrack.
Ladies and Gentlemen – Saliva
Let the bodies hit the floor – Drowning Pool
Tear Away – Drowning Pool
My son is a drummer in a metal band and I was indoctrinated by all the practices held at my house when he was growing up. 🙂
hmm– not a rock song
you’re so vain works for my rock chicks …as does Bad romance(lady gaga) and
This is so amazing how we all interpret “angry songs” differently. And that’s a good thing…can you imagine if we all liked the same things? How boring would that be?!
I’m having fun looking for some of these, and expanding my iTunes library. My favorites so far – E.S. Posthumous – Unstoppable – I picture an approaching army wielding swords and shields, and The Apocalypse, which is kind of similar in feeling – it’s that same army in battle. I also enjoy The Pretender, and of course, Thunderstruck, an old standby.
Some I’ve had to delete, knowing my students would throw tomatoes at me, but I’m getting some great ideas from you guys!
Joan Jett-I Hate Myself for Loving You
Testify by Rage Against The Machine
Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria
Megalomaniac and Anna Molly by Incubus

All within my hands, mostly stuff from metallica’s st.Anger album
I love “Alive” because it is angry but positive at the same time…
“Diary of Jane” Breaking Benjamin
